DJ-Manager

DJ-Manager Version 3.1sc allows producers to setup and manage live broadcasting user accounts for use in remote source clients like WinAmp or SAM Broadcaster.

Table View

The table provides overview and basic management of all users on the systems. To add a user, click on  ‘Add User’ icon and you will be redirected to the “Create DJ” Form. The help icon refers to this manual.

Table View Fields

  • Name: The name or alias of the DJ account
  • Credentials: The username and password provided as ‘username:password’ compatible with most broadcasting applications
  • Priority: Provides a dropdown for determining the broadcast priority in simul-broadcast (when two DJ’s broadcast simultaneously), DJ handover and/or Playlist Override scenarios. Important: All DJ’s must be prioritized higher than playlists in order to take over the broadcast from the playlist.

  • Actions Toolbar: (to the right of each user) Provides advanced user management features (more below).

  • Password [Required]: This is the password the user must enter into the remote source client in order to broadcast live. A minimum of 8 characters are required. No spaces or special characters allowed. Note: optionally use the auto-generate (magic wand icon) to generate a unique secure password.
  • Email [Recommended]: This is the email used when sending the user their broadcasting credentials.
  • Profile: Enter DJ profile information for display on your SoniXFM.com Station Page (HTML allowed).

Local Time Conversion

Events are triggered on the server based upon Server Time (UTC). To aid in calculating UTC from your local (computer) time we have provided a clock which displays the current server and local time and timezone offset which can be switched between 24 hour or am/pm format. Using basic math one can calculate the time difference by adding or subtracting the offset value or use the convenient time zone conversion utility (clock icon).

Example:

Guest Broadcaster (DJ): Use the following settings to allow time limited access of one hour on Sunday starting at 6:00 am (UTC):

  1. Enter a Name for the account (i.e. ‘Guest DJ’) [username will be automatically derived]
  2. Enter a Password for the account (i.e. ‘guest1234’)
  3. Set Permissions to “Sunday”
  4. Set Start Time to “06:00:00” (NOTE: observe your local time display and adjust to the desired start time)
  5. Set Duration to “01:00:00”
